Features

LOCKING IN AN IDLE PERIOD
A preferred idle period may be locked in place, preventing the operator from changing this time selection.

TO LOCK IN:
  • Turn ignition ON.
  • Select the preferred idle period using the MIN. button.
  • Press & hold the STOP button until all 6 LED's flash briefly (after approximately 10 seconds).
  • Turn ignition OFF.
  • This default idle period will remain even if the vehicle battery is disconnected.
TO UNLOCK:
  • Turn ignition ON.
  • Press & hold the MIN. button until all 6 LED's flash briefly (after approximately 10 seconds).
  • Turn ignition OFF.
  • The idle period is now released.
PARK BRAKE CONNECTION:
This is not applicable to CTR-M5 model timers.

The timer green wire connects to the vehicle park brake as shown on the diagram below. This allows the timer to operate only if the park brake is applied. If the park brake is released during the idle period, the timer will cancel immediately & the engine will stop. Connecting the green wire directly to negative (ground) will by-pass this feature & allow the timer to operate regardless of the park brake position.

MINIMUM OPERATION TIME
The timer will not operate until the engine has been running for at least 30 seconds. This prevents unwanted timer operation if the engine is started accidentally.

VEHICLE REMOTE CENTRAL LOCKING
With most modern vehicles, the remote central locking is disabled whenever the engine is running. This only applies to the remote itself (on the ignition key or key ring). This is to prevent unwanted flashing of indicators or sounding of the horn while driving. When a turbo timer is installed to provide an engine idle period, the remote central locking may be disabled until the end of the idle period. The vehicle may still be locked using the ignition key at the driver's door, accessing the central locking. However, where the law requires, the vehicle driver must remain with the vehicle until completion of the idle period.
